Scope and contact

This policy applies to randompickertools.com, operated under the Random Picker Tools name. Questions and privacy requests can be submitted through the Contact page or sent to support@randompickertools.com.

Browser-only tool data

Normal tool entries, imported files, generated results and working histories are processed in your browser. Optional preferences, favorites and recent lists use LocalStorage on that device. You can disable list saving or clear this data from Cookie Settings.

Shared links

When you deliberately select Create Share Link, the displayed items, approved tool settings, tool identifier and an IP-derived abuse-prevention token are sent to our server. The list is available to anyone who obtains the hard-to-guess link, so it is not a private vault. The displayed expiration is normally 30 days and cannot exceed 90 days under the application controls; at expiration or administrative removal, the stored list and settings are erased. Limited record metadata may remain for security, moderation and audit purposes. Shared pages are noindex and contain no ads.

Contact submissions

The contact form stores the name, email address, topic, message and an IP-derived abuse-prevention token that you submit. We use this information to answer the request, investigate errors or abuse, protect the service and document the response. Contact records are kept only while reasonably needed for those purposes or legal obligations and can be administratively deleted when no longer required.

Server and security logs

Web server and security logs may contain the date and time, requested URL, response status, IP address, referrer and browser or user-agent information. The application also uses one-way HMAC-derived IP tokens for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Logs are used for security, reliability, troubleshooting and legal compliance and are retained according to operational and provider schedules.

Optional site analytics

Site analytics is disabled unless the operator enables it and this browser records an affirmative choice. Events are limited to items such as event name, tool identifier, language and a broad entry-count range. They do not contain list text, imported file contents, winner names or contact messages. The browser may load an operator-controlled analytics collector only while analytics is enabled and consent remains accepted.

Google advertising and identifiers

When advertising is enabled on an eligible page, third-party vendors, including Google, may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers, and receive information such as the page URL, IP address, device and browser details, consent signals, approximate location and ad interactions. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

How Google uses data

Google may use information from partner sites to provide, maintain and improve services, measure advertising, protect against fraud and abuse, and personalise content or ads where permitted. We do not deliberately include tool entries, winner names, contact text or shared-list contents in Google ad requests or analytics events.

Advertising choices and consent

Users can manage or opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and can review broader industry choices at AboutAds. For users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, eligible advertising is gated behind a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with IAB Transparency and Consent Framework v2.3. Its message identifies applicable purposes and vendors and provides consent, refusal and manage-options choices. When the Google message is active, its privacy and cookie settings link allows consent to be changed or withdrawn.

United States privacy choices

Advertising-related identifiers may constitute a sale, sharing or targeted-advertising activity under some United States privacy laws even though Random Picker Tools does not sell tool lists or contact messages for money. When required advertising is active, the Google Privacy & messaging controls can present an applicable opt-out and transmit restricted-data-processing or Global Privacy Platform signals. You may also contact us about an applicable access, deletion, correction or opt-out request.

Retention

Browser data remains until you clear it or the browser removes it. Shared-list content is erased at the displayed expiration or earlier removal. Analytics event records, contact messages, security logs and limited share metadata are retained only for the purposes described above, using schedules that reflect security, dispute, operational and legal needs; data is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer reasonably required.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, to withdraw consent, or to appeal or complain to a local data-protection authority. We may need proportionate information to verify a request and protect other users. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

International processing

Google and other service providers may process advertising or technical information in countries different from the one where you live. Their privacy notices describe the locations, legal bases and safeguards they use. We limit our own disclosures to what is needed to operate, secure and support the service or comply with law.

Children and classroom use

Random Picker Tools is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age defined by local law. A parent, guardian, teacher or other responsible adult should supervise use by younger people. Use initials, aliases or group labels where possible; do not enter grades, diagnoses, contact details or other sensitive student information, and do not create a share link for an identifiable student roster. Specifically classroom- or student-focused URLs are excluded from this site’s ad-serving surfaces as a conservative safeguard.

Material changes are reflected in the effective and last-reviewed date shown on this page. If a change requires a new consent choice, the relevant consent message may be shown again.
